AWANA

If you want to give your kids a night of fun where they will make friends, get some exercise and learn something valuable in a safe environment then read this now!

What Is AWANA?

AWANA FlagAWANA is an internationally renowned programme of activites designed to give your kids an evening of great fun whilst teaching them many valuable lessons that will help them to understand what Church is really all about as well as help them to find out about God and Christian values.

Who is it for?

All children of primary school age are welcome (P1 – P7).

The kids are split into two main age groups (P1 – P3) and (P4 – P7) and the evening is split into several sessions, with each session covering a different activity:

Session 1. This kicks off the evening when all the kids come together to sing songs and enjoy expressing themselves musically…….. well it’s mostly musical! Then there is a prayer to round off the session

Session 2. After all the musical excitement the kids settle down with their leaders to learn a little about God and the bible in a fun but informative way and, crucially, in a way they will understand and relate to. The children are fascinated by the bible stories and they even like to learn Bible verses. We even give them little rewards for memorizing them!

Session 3. After we’ve exercised their brains we exercise their bodies with a games session which they love. There’s plenty of healthy competition and we teach them fair play and encourage them for effort, good behaviour and sportsmanship – which can earn them points in our very own AWANA rewards system.

Session 4. This is a really interactive time when the children learn about the messages of the bible but also take part by reading out some Bible stories they like and learning how to pray.

When is it on?

AWANA is on Friday nights during term time (North Lanarkshire) from 6.15pm to 8.00pm.

All AWANA Team leaders have been vetted by Disclosure Scotland (Enhanced Disclosure)
