Parents And Toddlers
Craighalbert Parent & Toddlers Group offers the chance for parents and their young children to come together in a safe environment to make friends, share experiences and discover more about Craighalbert Church.
The group aims to:
- Facilitate a happy environment where children from birth to three years old can learn to develop socially and make friends
- Offer a setting where parents can enjoy the support of the group and of each other by sharing their common experiences in parenthood.
- Introduce people to Craighalbert Church and make available the facility to learn more about Christianity if they so wish.
OK – So what’s the format?
There is a weekly timetable as follows:
WED – FRI – 10AM-11.30AM
WED – THUR – 1PM – 2.30PM
The group adheres to North Lanarkshire schools term times.
And what happens when we get there?
Firstly the kids are allowed plenty of time for free play and we have both fun and educational toys for them to enjoy. Then we always have a craft activity which involves painting and sticking and lots of little hands that need cleaned afterwards so they can enjoy their snack time. They all sit at a table and watch a video while they eat whilst the adults have a chance to sit and chat over a coffee and some biscuits. Finally, the session rounds off with fifteen minutes of singing complete with musical instruments for all the budding little musicians!
We also have special events at key holiday times.
Is there a cost involved?
The cost is £2.50 per child with and additional £1 for each additional child. Fees are incurred every week whether or not the child attends. This allows each child’s place to be kept open for them.
All legal requirements for the group are strictly adhered to and all Craighalbert carers are vetted by Disclosure Scotland (enhanced disclosure)
What do I do if I want to attend with my child?
With over 130 children in regular attendance places are limited but in the first instance you should call the Church on 01236 721236 when the toddler group is in session and ask for Yvonne Freckleton, who will be happy to help.
