Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to a few questions you may be asking yourself if you are thinking of visiting Craighalbert for the first time:

FAQ

Q: What should I expect when I visit Craighalbert?

A:

Most people choose to come to the Family service for their first visit to the Church. You can expect a friendly but unobtrusive welcome to the Church from our greeter on the front door. His job is to welcome everyone and direct newcomers to the sanctuary where the service is held.

The service is upbeat musically and, even if you don’t know the melodies the words appear on screen and you can sing along with ease to the modern music from our excellent praise band. Craighalbert is a very musical Church and everyone sings with enthusiasm.

The speaker will preach a sermon from the Bible in a way that is relevant to our lives today. You will always hear something that matters to you and learn something important for your life and how you live it. You may even want to know more about being a Christian, in which case you should a member of the welcome team, a Church Elder or the speaker after the service.

Q: What does Craighalbert have for my family?

A:

The first thing to do is go to the “Church Activities” section of this web site and look at the various organizations we have. There is something for everyone regardless of age and if you have a very young family you can still enjoy our services whilst your children are looked after at our Family service crèche or Sunday School.

Also, take a look at the “Monthly Diary” section from our Home Page. There you will find the times and dates for mid week services, House groups and special activities which is produced a month in advance.

Q: What should I wear?

A:

Clothes! Seriously, you can wear what you feel comfortable in. Some people do still dress up a little for Church, whilst others just wear jeans and a T-shirt. At Craighalbert, we do not have a dress code as such and you will find all types of both casual and formal dress represented at our services.

Q: Is there access for people with physical disabilities?

A:

Yes. We have wheelchair access to the Church building, disabled toilet facilities and a lift suitable for wheelchairs. We are also happy to help with any special requirements you may have. Just contact any of the Deacons or Elders to discuss your needs (see Contact Us). We will do our very best to help if we can.
