History
Back in 1991, several Christians felt called to establish a Church on the North side of the A80 in Cumbernauld. Today Craighalbert Church stands as a testament to God’s grace and goodness that it continues to grow and Glorify His name in the local community.
Small Beginnings
Pollock Hall in Condorrat was the venue for the first Worship service of our new Church which at that time was called Eastfield Evangelical Church. Attendance at that first service was 35 and this grew steadily over the following year until we moved to Eastfield Primary School and from this base we were able to take our first steps to planning for a permanent home.
Several sites were considered but eventually Planning Permission was approved for our current site at Craighalbert Way.
A Church vision which had taken seven years to bear fruit was now complete and our new building was dedicated on 5th October 1997.
Standing on a 1.83acre site Craighalbert Church has a main Hall which can seat 400 people and can be used as a games hall for sports and recreation. A ground floor lounge area with a dedicated kitchen is perfect for smaller meetings and caters for everything from Parent and toddlers play facilities to offering scope to serve a three course meal to around 100 people.
Dedicated office accommodation, crèche facilities and storage facilities are also on the ground floor as well as a lift for disabled access to the upper floor.
The upper floor provides the main sanctuary with comfortable seating for around 200 with dedicated audio-visual equipment for use in services, presentations and musical events.
The Church has ample car parking and the site has further developmental potential, which, by the grace of God will be fully utilised to grow the Church in the near future as numbers continue to increase.
Regular Family Service attendance is now around 200 people which fills the upper floor to capacity.
